#7: Entryway Tour

Since we only moved into Maison de Pax about a year and a half ago (and, consequently, it was a mere week before my second child was born), it has been a gradual process to make our house the home we desire. One of the first steps, though, was to create a welcoming entryway. And though it’s still a work in progress (what isn’t?!), here is our current entryway (and a bonus – the Christmas version).

#6: DIY Built-In Bookshelves

Mr. Pax showed off his amazing skills last summer by leveling his very wonky office flooring, laying new floors, and building some beautiful built-in bookshelves. Someday, maybe I’ll finish decorating the room and give you a full tour. 😉

#5: Curb Appeal

Our very first step in our 1940 colonial (after rewiring the whole place and patching the walls before we moved in!) was to give the place a facelift. I LOVE the change, and apparently others did, too, because this was the #5 topped viewed post.

#4: DIY Smocked Drop Cloth Curtains

You can’t beat the cost of drop cloth for a textured, neutral, sturdy fabric. But in an effort to bring some grace to these simple curtains, I added some basic honeycombed smocking to the top.

#3: DIY Vintage Paris Map

After living in Paris for two years, I couldn’t resist the urge to incorporate a taste of our wonderful life there into our home. This tutorial includes step-by-step instructions to create your own Restoration Hardware decoupaged map knock off for a fraction of the price.

#2: DIY Ruffled Curtains

This may have been a time-consuming project for me with my very primitive sewing skills, but the result was well worth the effort. These curtains are one of my favorite items in my home, and most of my visitors complement them, as well. The muslin is so affordable and light, while the ruffles add the perfect amount of interest.

#1……………………….: American Flag Mason Jars

Isn’t public opinion a funny thing?? I had so much making making these with the help of my three-year-old, but I never imagined that they would be the top viewed post! For a quick, easy, and patriotic project, though, take a look. 🙂 american flag mason jars

So how about you? Which was your favorite?
