Guest Room AND Nursery Reveal

Well, it’s about time, right? 😉

I’ve got about a million photos for you all, so scroll through and enjoy. If you have any questions that aren’t answered here or in the linked posts, please ask! The walls are Agreeable Gray, by SW – a light, slightly warm gray that I love:

My fabulous (and free!) vintage crib sits on the opposite wall. Read about how I did it (and made the crib skirt) here. And above it I hung the “antique” painted frame (tutorial here):

We used the dresser that used to belong to my grandmother that I mentioned here, and it happens to be the perfect height for a changing table.

When guests come, we just move the changing pad and caddy to the office where Littler Pax sleeps in a pack n’ play, and I put this move this little basket (which currently is holding blocks) onto the dresser for towels for our guests. I try to make it simple for me!

The bedside tables were both Mr. Pax’s before we married (they both belonged to his parents before that), and I refinished one to match the dresser:

As it is a nursery, we tucked our glider into that corner along with one of my favorite pillows I made from drop cloth material:

And, of course, the gorgeous DIY ruffled curtains (tutorial here) give just the soft touch I was hoping for.

We hung our DIY gilded frames (tutorial here) with vintage sheet music above the bed:

I am thrilled with how the “antique” mirror in my thrift-store frame turned out (instructions to make your own here):

And my thrift-store memo board makes me smile every day:

I also added a couple of picture ledges above an antique trunk to create a little reading corner:

Accessorizing the room was easy because I don’t like a lot of clutter, especially in a room for a baby and guests. I added the flowers on the shelf above the trunk and similar ones on the bedside table in one of my DIY mercury glass vases (instructions here):

The wall clock (which was a wedding present) is a great option to leave surfaces clear:

And I already had the lamps (on clearance at Hobby Lobby several years ago):

I must say that this room makes me happy. It’s taken a year (since we moved into this home)… not exactly the time frame I was hoping for… but I really do love it. It’s a little cottage-y, elegant but comfortable, simple, clean, soft, and inviting. At least I think so…
