Can it really be 2019?!?!? How is that even possible? Before racing headlong into the New Year and all it has to offer, I wanted to take a moment to look back on 2018 with the top 10 posts of the year. A special thanks to my friend Cami from Tidbits for organizing this little collaboration! You can see the top 10 posts – so many fabulous DIY projects and decorating tips – of some amazing bloggers linked below. Side note: apparently sectionals and marble counters are a big deal (you’ll have to keep reading to see what I mean).

#10. DIY Antique Printer’s Cabinet (Ikea Hack)
I guess it’s a good thing I finally got around to this little project (see my confession here about the delay!). I’m so glad everyone else seems love it as much as I do!
#9. How to Decorate a Living Room with a Sectional
Sectionals have come a long way from the hulking hunter green beasts I remember from childhood… But it still takes a special touch to decorate with them well. I shared all my tips and tricks for doing so when we revealed our family room makeover!
#8. How to Decorate a Spring Living Room
I laugh that this was a favorite post because it was a bit of an experiment on my part. But one thing is for sure: even if I’m awkward and struggling with technology, you guys all seem to love video!
#7. Christmas Farmhouse Porch: Tiny House Edition
It warmed my heart so so much to see this post make the top 10, especially since it just went live a few weeks ago! If you haven’t read the story of the new property and the tiny house on it, I encourage you to do so… I know I’m biased, but I think it’s pretty wonderful.
#6. How to Care for Marble Countertops
We love our marble countertops (spoiler alert… we apparently are not alone in this!), but caring for them properly is obviously super important. And speaking of awkward video and technical challenges, this is definitely high on that list.
#5. How to Get a Raw Wood Look
I felt a little like I was going back to my roots on this one with a simple, unplanned DIY furniture project (awkward iphone process pictures and all) that turned into a super popular post. And I’ve used the same technique on several things since then with great success!
#4. How to Make a Balloon Garland
I’m not much of a crafter… but it brings me great joy that this super simple DIY decoration I made for my daughters’ birthdays was such a fan favorite.
#3. DIY Wine Bottle Waterer
Keeping pretty plants alive and an excuse to empty some wine bottles? Can’t go wrong. 😉
#2. Designing a Small Living Room with a Large Sectional
Remember how I mentioned sectionals and marble counters? Well, that’s because they made the list TWICE! Readers not only loved the tips for decorating with a sectional, but even more popular was the family room reveal and the discussion of designing a small space with large furniture. Almost a year later, and we’re just as thrilled with the space! To comfortably sit 10+ people in a 13×13 room and still have the space feel open and uncrowded by furniture… I call that serious form/function victory.
#1. Should You Use Marble in the Kitchen?
And, as I already gave away, it’s another marble counters post in the top spot. I’m excited that this kitchen has been so well loved (the reveal of this space from 2017 is still a super popular post), and the kitchen we are designing for the ranch house is that much more exciting to me following the attention that this kitchen has received over the years.
