Italian Sausage Pasta (Easy Spaghetti Recipe)
Looking for an easy spaghetti recipe? This Italian sausage pasta is delicious, and it takes just three ingredients, two of which you probably already have in your pantry.
Everybody loves the simplicity of an easy spaghetti recipe, right? Especially those of us who have been cooking every. single. meal for months of quarantine.
I have had seasons when experimenting in the kitchen was one of my favorite pastimes. But if I’m really honest, I don’t love cooking at this stage in my life: four kids means every meal I cook is someone’s “not my favorite” meal. The toddler is usually struggling by 5pm. And mama would rather be doing DIY projects. 😉
But I love eating. Always have. Probably always will. So when I discovered the secret to the most delicious easy spaghetti, I just about jumped for joy.
I’m telling you, this Italian sausage pasta is a game changer.
In 20 minutes, you can put together a whole, delicious meal. If you have a quick-cooking pasta, you might even finish in 15 minutes. And my whole family loves it. You can see why I’m smitten with this quick and easy dinner.
Italian Sausage Pasta Recipe
Cook pasta while you make your meat sauce.
Start with sweet, raw Italian sausage from your local store. It’s usually made with ground pork and already seasoned. Slice the coverings off the sausage and brown the ground pork in some olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add a jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce.
Serve over spaghetti.
Top with parmesan cheese, finishing salt, or fresh basil or parsley if you like. 🙂
I told you it was simple!
Gluten Free Spaghetti Option
Due to a wheat allergy, we actually eat gluten free pasta in this house. This is hands down my favorite spaghetti brand: it’s made from brown rice and truly has a normal spaghetti texture. I can even cook it al dente!
Best Tomato Sauce
I think marinara sauces are really a personal thing. I like mine with lots of onion and garlic flavor, but my kids seem to prefer a subtler tomato sauce. For this recipe, though, it doesn’t matter much, as the Italian sausage really takes center stage.
Due to grocery shortages recently, I’ve made it with several different brands and types of marinara sauce (whatever was in stock that week), and it was delicious every time.

This feeds our family of 6, but four are children. I like to pair it with a pound of green beans for a complete meal. See notes in post regarding gluten free spaghetti options!
