We recently added a little lipstick trellis to our pig shed. Unfortunately, the detached garage at our 1940 colonial was torn down sometime in the past by previous owners. It probably wasn't worth saving anyway (most of the detached ones in the area seem to be far past their prime), but it sure would be nice to have a garage... In the meantime, a little shed keeps all our tools and lawn equipment as many of our tools and lawn equipment as we can fit. It wasn't a complete eyesore, but it ... Kid-Proofing the Banister (from Incomplete Guide to Living)
Well, friends, you're in for a treat today. Beth, from The Incomplete Guide to Living, is here. Originally from Alabama, Beth now lives in an old farmhouse in England (some of which dates back to the 13th century!!) with her husband and son. I used this one mostly. So I'll spare you the mini-blind to roman shade tutorial, but I will share a few thoughts. The best part is ... Read More about DIY Roman Shade from Mini-blinds

Maison de Pax Home Tour: Living Room
I am very pleased to say that the tour series (which began in the entryway) is continuing... I may have had to take pictures in less than ideal lighting (because it was storming outside), but when your photography opportunities are limited to mid-afternoon while your children are asleep, you do what you can do, right? So without further ado, I give you the living room. I do believe that this is my favorite room in our house right now. Though the furniture layout is a bit square (and, ...
