Twinkle Lights {Christmas Nights Tour}
Don’t miss these magical nighttime Christmas home tours!
I have a confession: I almost didn’t do the annual Christmas Nights Tour this year. I almost let this crazy year steal this sweet tradition. While I’m all for giving yourself (and everyone else) grace when things get difficult, I think sometimes it’s worth the extra effort to make magic happen when we most need it.
It reminds me of the line from that beautiful carol:
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices…
When we are most weary is when we can most appreciate the beauty, hope, joy, and peace of Christmas.
I hope that this tour does that for you. However you may feel weary, may these little scenes bring you an extra dose of Christmas magic this season.
If you are visiting from Bless’er House, welcome. Lauren and I have been friends for quite a few years now, and I can honestly say that her heart is as beautiful as her home.
Twinkle Light Christmas Nights Tour
This year, I was determined to bring as much light into our home as possible.
I wanted twinkle lights to surround you, no matter where you walked. And I didn’t want to spend on new decorations. So Christmas lights decorating became my simple strategy.
The entire downstairs is awash with the twinkle light glow as soon as the sun goes down.
Fred and Wilma (the fiddle leaf figs) got string lights…
Even my faux olive tree in our dining room got lights…
And, of course, the Christmas trees in the stairwell and living room got lots of lights.
We basically never have to turn on any overhead lights this time of year. Other than cooking, we can pretty much make it by Christmas lights and candles.
Candlelight Christmas Decorating ideas
Speaking of candles, one of our favorite family traditions is to do advent activities by candlelight.
We read a few Scriptures of the advent story and drink hot chocolate, or address Christmas cards, or wrap presents.
We light the fire and read or sing a few carols.
There’s something about firelight that simply makes it more fun. More serene. More magical.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
(John 1:5)
Whatever this holiday season looks like for you, I wish you the love, joy, and peace of Christ and a very Merry Christmas.

It has been on my mind over and over again this year, how fitting that Jesus -the Light of the world- would come/coming be celebrated at this, the darkest time of year. Bring on the Light/lights!!! 😊
Amen, Becky! I couldn’t agree more. I hope you have a very blessed Christmas!

Thank you, Shayna!
So pretty! There is nothing like a home lit for the holidays, really my favorite. I am admiring your living room coffee table and the little gold edge table between the chairs. Are these antiques? We are redoing a family room and love this style for our furniture there.
Thank you so much! Yes, both the coffee table and the side table are antiques that came from my grandmother. I’m sorry I don’t have a source for you.
I know this is a few weeks late . Can you share where you purchased the print on your mantle ( prince of peace) You have a beautiful home. Thanks! PJ
