Guilt Free Peppermint Truffles (Healthy Holiday Treat)
These peppermint truffles are not only delicious and decadent, they are a healthy holiday dessert option. Packed with energy and made from dates and other natural ingredients (like a homemade Larabar), these mint chocolate bites will leave you guilt free this holiday season!
Guilt-free truffles. How’s that for a selling point?
I mentioned my recent decision not to eat wheat (at all) or sugar (when possible), and let me just tell you that right before the holidays was a tough time to start this plan. Might not have been my smartest decision… or was it?
I’ve been challenged to think outside the box of my normal holiday treats, and I’m thrilled to be able to share this brilliant little recipe with you all for Ella Claire’s holiday recipe group. Don’t miss all the amazing treats linked at the bottom of this post.
But back to the truffles… I’ve been making some date-based bars lately as a little treat, so I thought I’d adapt those for some more dessert-style bites. Roll them in cocoa, and you’d never know they weren’t all chocolate.
And they are so easy to make. Chop the nuts and chocolate in a food processor, then the dates and flavors, then mix it all together….
And enjoy!
