5 Room by Room Organization Tips for the Whole House
Does your whole house need organization and decluttering? I’m sharing closet, kitchen, office, and toy storage ideas for a clear and clutter-free home!
Ahh, January… The time of year where we are feeling stressed by all of the new-meets-old toys, clothing and gadget gifts we received over the holidays stuffed into small storage spaces. There is nothing wrong with gifts. In fact, I love to give them, but sometimes we need to purge and improve our organization system to make space for the new things we use and love.
Toy & Kids Bedroom Organization
Speaking of toys, one of my favorite ways to declutter in the beginning of the year is with the play room. My boys share a very large room with bunk beds in the alcove that acts as toy storage and a place to spread out with LEGOs and games.
It’s easy for the kids room to get out of control, so it is important to regularly assess whether a toy is being used and toss those that aren’t (preferably when they aren’t looking!).
This post has 10 different kid storage ideas, but one of my favorites is this labeled LEGO bin.
KIDS walk-in CLOSET IDeas & ORganization
Next to toys, a kid’s closet can get unruly FAST! I’ve taught my boys to do their own laundry (can you hear the angels singing?), but I did have to install some special shelving and closet organization solutions to sustain a tidy, small walk-in closet. These closet systems can be expensive but they help my boys find the right place for their clothing. You can read all about walk-in closet tips for kids here.
Office & Desk Organization Solutions
I don’t know about you, but with four kids, a busy husband, and this blog, we have a lot of papers and office supplies. Because my desk lives in a shared living room, I have to regularly declutter this space. In this post, I’m sharing how I’ve dealt with this in the past with 7 office organization tips to keep your work space tidy.
Using Baskets for storage solutions
One of my favorite organization ideas (and home decor trends) is using woven baskets. They look pretty and if you hunt a bit, you can often find them at thrift stores for a great price. I use baskets to store toys, extra blankets, pillows, and more! I still love this DIY paint-dipped basket from a few years ago.
Kitchen cabinet Ideas
The kitchen is the heart of the home. Since we homeschool most days of the week, we use this space for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks (so.many.snacks!). I’ve worked really hard on our kitchen design to make sure that every tool and utensil has a home. In this post, I’m sharing my favorite kitchen organization tips to make space for messy baking and home cooking.

Hi Rosita! Thank you! And, as for staying organized, it is definitely a work in progress. I don’t often show you what’s in front of the camera during school days. 😉
