Charming rustic chic wedding decorations for a summer wedding
You know I’ve always been a fan of mixing things up and creating contrasts – like a fancy gilded mirror next to a rustic piece of reclaimed wood – and I think the same rustic chic approach is simply perfect for weddings. Mason jars, crisp linen table cloths, a log cabin, lots of twinkly lights… all make perfectly charming wedding decorations. Remember the dried lavender mason jars centerpieces I made a few months ago? I thought you all might like to see how they were used. This was actually for my brother’s rehearsal dinner, but they would be lovely for a wedding or even engagement party, too
We held the rehearsal at a nature sanctuary in Houston (details here if you are local and interested). The little log cabin, the wide wrap-around porches, and the thick trees were a charming backdrop for the party as well as the rehearsal held in the courtyard.
I kept decorations fairly simple: mason jars with simple purple flowers as centerpieces and a fun polaroid station for the guest book…
I also brought a couple of lampposts for extra light, but candles and twinkling lights provided beauty as the sun set…
As well as the main lighting after dark. And they brought the perfect ambiance for toasts, remembrances, and celebrations for the couple.
I’ll be back soon to share some fun ideas (and free printables!) for guest books and seating arrangements. I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my first rehearsal dinner to decorate. I know I’m biased, but since I received the bride’s approval, I’d say I’m safe calling it a success. 😉
