Easy Natural Fall Wreath
On Monday I shared my top 10 suggestions for affordable fall decorating.
Number 1…?
Clip branches from your yard.
And today I’m going to show you one of the things you can do with those branches.
And while almost all of those affordable tips (see them all here) would fall into this category, I’m excited to share today’s project as part of “10 Minute Decorating.” I’m teaming up with other bloggers to inspire you with quick and easy ways to create a beautiful home.
For today’s project, I took my own advice and clipped some branches to make an adorable oak leaf and acorn wreath this year. I love how affordable and easy it was to make. I used garden sheers to clip little branches of 4-8″ – especially looking for those sporting little acorns. 🙂
To make the wreath, I removed some felt flowers attached to a small grapevine wreath I had found in the dollar bin at Target last year. Then, following the same pattern as my DIY eucalyptus wreath, I simply stuck the branches into the wreath at an angle, moving around the circle.
It’s not dramatic, but I feel like the natural greenery adds a layer of beauty that the naked grapevine didn’t have.
I piled the extra branches in a galvanized tray around some pumpkins for a centerpiece.
And, in case you’re wondering, I didn’t preserve them at all, but I like how they’re drying. They would never last until next year, but they are still looking beautiful for this season.
These pictures were taken about three weeks after I made the wreath.
