Hello! My name is Jennifer from Decor Gold Designs and I’m honored to be here as a guest today.
I spent a number of years doing interior design work and I am passionate about helping you find your own design personality. Also, I want to teach you how to create a home that is unique and beautiful. Hopefully, I can inspire you today!
I don’t know about you, but I am constantly changing things around in my home. I believe it’s one of the ways to keep things fresh. If you feel like your home would benefit from an update but you don’t have the budget for a full redesign, use my tips below to bring interest and style to your home.
Tip 1. Start at the Front Door
There is no better way to create a memorable first impression for your home than to accessorize your entry hall.
Most importantly, it should be an introduction to your design style. Be sure to choose pieces that will create flow into the adjacent spaces. Furthermore, you can get my tips for decorating an open concept home here.
Tip 2. Add Fresh Flowers, Plants, and Produce
Do me a favor and take a look around your home. Do you think it could benefit from a little color and life being added in one or more of your rooms? A convenient and inexpensive way to do this is with items you can pick up during your next trip to the grocery store.
An elegant orchid arrangement will take your table decor to the next level. This one is easy to make. You can read how to do it here.
A flowering plant is versatile and it can last for a weeks. Additionally, greenery and flowers add a sense of calm to any space.
Tip 3. Brighten with White
White has never been more popular. It is my go-to color for everything from table linens to throw pillows. As a result, you will find plenty of options to select from regardless of your style.
I also love to use white bedding.
Recently I updated a guest room in our home. I wanted to paint the walls white, but the new white bed and bedding provided the room a fresh look and made painting unnecessary.
Tip 4. Have Versatile Pieces
I used to purchase pieces for specific spots in my home. However, now I simply buy things I love knowing that I’ll enjoy styling and restyling them throughout my home.
Tip 5. Consider the Seasons
Branches clipped from my yard are perfect for spring and add contrast to the space.
Rich hues provide the festive look of fall.
I hope you have found my tips helpful! Thanks so much to Rachel for having me! And thanks to each of you for reading! I’d love to stay connected. You can find me on my website and blog, Decor Gold Designs, on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook.
I like your tip to go with white for a lot of things—thanks for mentioning how you have a lot of options if you do! We are trying to find some new home decor for our kitchen and dining room, and I think white would be a great color for our theme. We’ll have to start searching for some beautiful white decor pieces that we can place in each room for a fresh, new look.
I’m so glad you found that helpful! White can really brighten up a space.
