Lavender Rose Bath Bombs

Lavender Rose Bath Bombs make the perfect handmade, affordable gift for Valentine's Day, birthdays, Mother's Day, Christmas, and more!

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients:
    1 cup baking soda
    1/2 cup cornstarch
    1/2 cup epsom salt
    1/2 cup citric acid
    dried rose petals
    dried lavender
    1 1/2 tsp water
    1 tbsp almond oil
    6 drops lavender essential oil
4 drops eucalyptus essential oil (optional)
    bath bomb molds
large bowl, small bowl, spoon, whisk
    twine, free printable labels

  2. Combine all dry ingredients (baking soda, cornstarch, epsom salt, citric acid) in a large bowl.

  3. Add dried rose petals and lavender to dry ingredients and mix well with whisk.

  4. Combine water, almond oil, lavender oil, and eucalyptus oil (if using) in small bowl.

  5. Whisk wet ingredients into dry ingredients very slowly.  Be sure to add slowly as adding too quickly will cause the dry ingredients to bubble (save that for the bath!).

  6. Mixture should have the consistency of damp sand.  It should remain powdery but hold its form if you squeeze it.  If it is not wet enough to clump in your hand, add a tiny bit (~1/2 tsp) more water.  A spray bottle is helpful for adding just a bit of water.

  7. Fill both sides of bath molds slightly over full and smush together.  Leave bath bomb in the mold for several hours and then remove from mold and place on a soft towel to dry overnight or longer.

  8. Finish off with some plastic wrap (if you'll be traveling with them), twine, and these free printable labels.
