Spring Living Room Decorating Ideas
This casually elegant living room is all set to go for spring! Use these simple spring decorating ideas to get your home ready for spring.
__________
Spring has sprung here in central Texas: the wisteria is blooming, baseball is in full swing, and Daylight savings has officially given us those longer evenings to enjoy outside.
Now, can I let you in on a little secret?
None of this is really “spring” decor.
There are no eggs, no bunnies (not that I’m opposed to decorating with bunnies), and no new floral pillows.
I did buy some fresh flowers, but they aren’t even traditionally “spring” flowers, simply some grocery store roses and some greens that you could find year round.
I removed a couple of darker pieces from my bookshelves (you know, the ones that caused an uproar with English teachers everywhere)…

Replaced my winter white throws and pillows with true white ones I already had.
And even used an old scarf on one to add a soft, blush accent (I think our recent exciting news has me imagining blush throughout the whole house!).

The succulents are grocery store buys (and I am sure to keep them year round, whether inside or out).
And the amaryllis is actually a traditional winter flower. But put it in a pretty, weathered box and enjoy it for spring, I say!
Our new fireplace and bookcase still make me so so happy. The renovations were a little crazy (since we tackled it simultaneously with our new kitchen), but it was definitely worth it.
This room may not be quite as “simple” as our spring dining room which I shared last week, nor as cheerful as our spring patios that I shared yesterday, but I did try to embrace some of my favorite seasonal decorating philosophies:
Use what you have (like the amaryllis that was a Christmas gift)
Combine year-round decor in ways that highlight a particular season (extra greens and whites, for example)
Make something new (like my DIY botanical wall hanging)
GET THE LOOK:
Add in a little unexpected flair (like the copper pitcher)
And enjoy your space!
Happy spring to all of you… Don’t forget to pin it for later!

Such a beautiful choice of spring decor, even if it’s not officially spring decor! I love how your lightened and brightened! Your flowers are perfect!
Thank you so much, Jennifer! And thank you for organizing. xo
