Home Style Saturdays: Thoughts on Finding Balance

I’ve been thinking a lot about balance lately. I can’t say I’m anywhere close to achieving it, but I did have three days this week when I never even opened my computer. As much as I love what I do – running this blog and connecting with community all over the world – I’m thinking I may need to have more days like this.

It can be so easy to let plans, goals, work, and creative passions suck us into an all-consuming vacuum, but I’m trying to step back and remember why I love home design. I love it because it makes my home a place where my children, my husband, our friends, our family, and anyone else actually wants to be. And if I’m not “present” there, it kind of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it?

I hope you, too, are able to find that balance between pursuing your passions and being present in your own home, family, and life. Enjoy today’s readings and have a wonderful weekend with your loved ones!

  1. I am so happy that I found you! I love your style and creativity. I just subscribed and was able to download the “Hope Springs Eternal” printable. I am not artistic at all but I printed it on heavy white paper, and created some sparkle and dimension by accenting the flowers and writing with a gold glitter marker. Framed it in an old black frame with a mat and proudly hung it in my foyer. I am pretty particular but it looks so charming and I can’t believe that I, yes I, created it FREE! Thank you!
