Coverless Book Bundles
This is one of those posts I’m almost embarrassed to write…
You know, because they’re so unbelievably easy that I wonder if you’ll just roll your eyes at me?
Like my Sharpie pillows…
Or the burlap wrapped rosemary trees…
Or my no-sew napkins.
This, my friends, is just what it looks like: coverless book bundles.
Or, in less eloquent terms, books I got for almost nothing at the thrift store and ripped the covers off.
And just to pretend this is a more complex or creative craft than it really is, I took pictures for you… of what you need: twine, greens, and four $0.25 books from the thrift store.
And of how to do it.
And no, there are no tricks. No warnings. No special techniques. Just get rid of a little pent-up aggression and tear into them. Then bundle them up with twine…
Stick some faux greenery in, and smile.
I like it best with old books with yellowed pages.
You may have noticed them on my mantel in my 10 tips for a fresh, cozy look for winter.
But I think the neutrals make them perfect for any season. In fact, I might just be embarrassingly simple and non-creative all year long. 😉
MORE DIY DECOR IDEAS:
I do something similar but I don’t rip off the book covers. I cover the books in brown paper (wrapping paper, or even brown paper bags), then use the twine and some sort of decorative closure item.
I love that idea, Maggie! Definitely a great solution for books you don’t want to destroy.
