20+ Gorgeous Gray and White Kitchens
Looking for gray and white kitchen inspiration? Check out this post!
It’s coming… 8 months after moving into our new home, I am ready to make changes in the kitchen. You can see more of what it looks like now in this post. It’s a lovely kitchen and definitely has its strong points, but it’s not really “me.” And while I’m not going to give away all my plans just yet, I thought I would share with you some of my inspiration kitchens. Think of it as a sneak peek into where we’re headed.
Kitchen INSPIRATION Pins
You can see even more beautiful images of kitchens on my inspire: kitchens Pinterest board (or better yet, just follow me on Pinterest 😉 ), but I gathered my favorites (and only those where I could find a source to credit – click the image or the source link below) here for you.
Gray and White Kitchen DESIGN Ideas
There are so many things about these inspiration kitchens that are catching my eye. I’m loving the Carrara marble, the mix of grays and gold, the farmhouse sinks, the various wood tones, and more. Which elements are your favorite?
Carrara Marble
I’m a sucker for natural stone, and gray and white marble counters and backsplashes are definitely an elegant use of the gray and white color palette.
White Subway Tile
White subway tile. It’s affordable, classic, and definitely worth considering for a white and gray kitchen. Pair it with white or gray grout, and you can’t go wrong.
Wood Tones
I’ve always loved a variety of wood tones, but I especially love the warmth the wood provides against the cooler neutrals in these kitchens.
Gray Kitchen Cabinets
There are so many shades of gray cabinets that can be absolutely beautiful in a kitchen! From dark, charcoal gray to light gray to a warmer mushroom or a cooler blue-gray, gray cabinets are a beautiful neutral for any kitchen.
Two Tone Kitchens
A brilliant way to capture both gray and white in your kitchen cabinets: have some of each! I think it brings a more modern look to a traditional design. You can use one color above and one below or simply have your kitchen island sport the accent color. Add some stainless steel appliances or accents for a beautiful, contemporary kitchen design.
Open Shelving
Open shelving is becoming super popular in kitchen design, and it definitely doesn’t disappoint in these gray and white kitchens. I especially love how some of the open shelves allow more backsplash to be seen when it’s taken up to the ceiling.
Farmhouse Sink
I love a good, single bowl farmhouse sink. It can be so elegant and yet casual…
Gray, WHITE, and MARBLE KITCHEN
I love them all! Tell me, which one is your favorite and why?
Update! I pulled my inspiration from the kitchens above and we remodeled our own kitchen using marble countertops, a farmhouse sink, and more… See our full gray and white kitchen remodel here!
And don’t forget to pin it for later.
I love grey and white anything, but in a kitchen it is gorgeous, then we can add the color as accent. Thanks for the good examples.
Cheers,
natalie
I love where you are going with this!! What a beautiful update it will be! Can’t wait to see what you choose. It is all just simply gorgeous!!
I love the bleached or raw wood look with gray and white…. just love it. Throw some glassy sparkly crystaly chandelier in there somewhere and I don’t think you can go wrong…
I love the grey and white combined with the natural wood. I had a grey and white kitchen installed over a year ago- grey stone benchtop with white gloss doors. The white gloss doors are the bain of my life. I’m constantly wiping fingerprints off. Gloss is not a good choice with our Australian glare. Our floorboards have a natural grey colour which I love and I am about to strip back my stools back, removing the material to expose the natural wood. I’m replacing my poor choice in pendants for something more natural.
Oh boy, I sure hope I won’t be wiping fingerprints off all the time! But I get your kitchen is lovely. I hope you enjoy the changes once you make them. 🙂
I love them all but my favorite is the first picture with what appears to be blue cabinets. I would love to see how they mixed the blue with grey but the source link doesn’t take you to the actual post, just the blog. Could you tell me where I might find the blog post about that kitchen. Thanks!
Hi Karen, the link takes you to a Design Sponge post which features the whole house. The images are not all on the page, though, you have to click through using the arrows by the first picture. If you click through the pictures, you should find a couple of the kitchen, including commentary on the left that talks about the color choice. I hope this helps!
Thanks! It looks like it’s not blue after all!
You’re welcome!
Hi Rachel,
I just love all of the white and gray kitchens.
We have black appliances, so I was wondering if you have an ideas on how I can do a white, gray or light cabinet kitchen with these appliances. (Wish we had stainless).
Thanks so much!
Debra
That’s a tough one, Debra! But I completely understand not replacing working appliances. I know it’s on a smaller scale, but if you saw my recent kitchen reveal, you can see that we have a black panel on our dishwasher and a black glass cooktop, and I don’t think they ruin the space at all. Would I ideally prefer all stainless? Sure. But the dishwasher is in good working order, so I wasn’t going to replace it, and glass cooktops don’t come stainless, of course. All that to say, I think you can still get an overall white/gray look even with some darker appliances mixed in. And if you’re feeling incredibly bold, I’ve seen some amazing decoupaged fridges… You could always look into that! 🙂 Hope this helps!
I love that you post a link to your current kitchen! How great that you are in the same boat of many of your readers as we make updates and changes to our homes inch by inch and bit by bit! So looking forward to seeing your updates!
Warmly,
Audrey
Thank you so much, Audrey! I’m so glad you are finding it helpful. 🙂
Hi Rachel, I just found you on Pinterest!! Love love love your kitchen. We are buying a brand new track home in California. The cabinets will be upgraded beechwood white painted shaker style. I have picked blue pearl granite slab with carrerra marble subway tiles. The designer thought polished would be easier to keep clean then honed. Also we have custom cabinets now and the builders aren’t as nice, but they’re at least as good as Kraft Maid! Thoughts?
It totally depends on what style you like- I think the marble is a bit more subtle and casual when honed. I haven’t had a lot of issues with staining if that’s helpful.
Yes very helpfu! I like the look of Honed better too. I am just worried that the cabinets will be cheap construction. We did a custom kitchen here years ago. The ones at the new house are plywood on the sides of the drawers and the front with the drawer screwed on. Our house has solid wood cabinets, no plywood sides. Think they’ll be ok?
I am not sure- Can you see some of their custom work beforehand?
I love the kitchen. I was wondering where the cafe white curtains came from?
Hi Sonja! That kitchen isn’t my kitchen unfortunately, but I am sure there are lots of options on Amazon (affiliate): https://amzn.to/3l8PHwM
