A Moment

I had a moment last weekend.

Not exactly an “aha” moment… but one of those moments where your gut kind of catches and you blink a few times, wondering if you’re making things up.

One of those moments when you get a little tingly and giddy and almost embarrassed.

Is it silly? Yes. Do I feel a bit foolish for “tooting my own horn” so to speak? Yes. But I couldn’t resist.

One of my posts appeared on the first page of Google search results.

And, for your skeptics out there, before you ask me, “Yeah, did you search Maison de Pax?” No. I did not. In fact, I was not even looking for my own page… I simply searched DIY ruffled curtains (because I was curious how many other people had made their own since I received such a positive response for my version).

That’s it.

And I saw the link to my DIY Ruffled Curtains there in black blue and white. Amazing. I began this blog, with zero readership to my name, a mere six weeks ago.

Does this “honor” really matter? No. Will it put food on my table? No. Do I need ruffled curtains or recognition on Google to die a happy woman? Absolutely not.

But was it a bit exciting? Indubitably. So exciting, in fact, that I had to share it with you.

And please don’t burst my bubble by telling me that Google is so smart it knew I wanted to see my own blog… let me have my “moment.”

And let me say thank you. Thanks for being such great readers and for allowing me an outlet for my loquacious (definition here if you don’t like big words ;), artsy, obsessive-compulsive self. You are the best.

Before I go, when have you last felt that gut-catching, tingly, no-idea-it-was-coming sort of feeling? I’d love to know.
