This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of At Home. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have a confession.

This happened yesterday.

I know. I know… We have not even reached Halloween, but when you get offers of help from guys like this…

How can you resist? The truth is, our new home has much higher ceilings than our last one, especially in our entry way.

And as our stairwell is one of our favorite features, we really wanted a tree that fit into the curve.

Plus, let’s be honest, with three young kids running around, the aspect of the tree being tucked away was appealing.

But here’s the challenge: while the ceiling is two stories high, the nook in the stairs is only 44″ across. Plus, since the expenses of the holidays are always high, we really wanted to keep the cost of a tree reasonable. So we went to At Home

The kids had so much fun helping us choose a tree.

My girl’s got good taste, hasn’t she?

Thankfully, with the measurements my little helpers gave me, it was easy to pick the tree that would fit best. And at 9′ tall, 44″ across, and only $279, this tree was perfect for the space and for the budget.

I think there are five major criteria when choosing a tree: height, width, budget, beauty, and ease. Let’s be honest, the last thing we need amidst the chaos of the holidays is a frustrating tree… It kind of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it?

This one passes all the tests.

And Mr. Pax and I literally were able to set up the whole thing in less than 10 minutes. Even with our “helpers” crowding around us.

The poles of each section connect the lights, so you don’t even have to find and plug cords (just the one into the wall, obviously), and a little foot pedal turns them on and off.

I had never been to At Home before, but I’m hooked. The tree lot has over 100 artificial Christmas Trees to choose from, all of which are set up for you to see and touch. At Home Christmas Decor includes tons of indoor and outdoor items (and non-seasonal home items, too!) at very affordable prices. And for those of you who like a beautiful holiday home but want it to be simple for you, they offer 15 different “themes” of decor, from “Crystal Chateau” to “Seas & Greetings” (you know my former-English-teacher self loved that pun! 😉 ).

  1. I love the idea of a skinnier tree and the realistic tips are amazing! Time to buy a new tree I think..

  2. How funny, I was just mapping out my trip tomorrow at At a Home. I have never been and am so excited to see the holiday (and yes a tree is on the list) and home decor. Love your tree and the location is perfect cannot wait to see it decked out for Christmas. Great post.

  3. The tree is beautiful! Having high ceiling envy. Our tree that we have had for years is WAY too big for our little living room. My sentimental side is very sad, but my Pollyanna side is saying finally a prelit tree. 😀

    1. Thank you! I grew up in a home whose ceilings were barely 8 feet, so I know what you mean. 😉 Prelit is nice, though… Save yourself a headache. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas season, Peggy!

  4. It is just wonderful,i love your tree,it is perfect. Last year i bought me a new tree,my grandkids are here for such a short time that i had a little 4 ft. tree. Well last year i bought me a 7ft. tree,it is skinny but i love the height and size of it.I decided i want a really nice tree no matter who came to see it,i love decorating and Christmas.
