Hill Country Resolutions

Mr. Pax and I had the privilege of visiting a B&B over the holidays. My in-laws kept the boys for a few days, and we got to have an early 10-year anniversary celebration (since baby #3 is due a week before our actual 10th anniversary!). It was wonderful. It also gave me a little time to reflect on this year and what I dream for it… for my family…

This year I want to:

#1) keep perspective.

new years resolution: keep perspective

Focus on and enjoy the small things in front of me, without losing track of the larger picture in the distance.

#2) take time to be still.

To think. To read. To pray. To breathe.

#3)laugh more… especially with Mr. Pax.

Life with kids, jobs, responsibilities… it can become so business like. Sometimes, that obsession with efficiency can grow out of necessity, to be sure, but it can also become stifling. I want to always enjoy life with my best friend – even when our boys are throwing food across the dining room. Even when DIY projects turn sour. Even when real tragedy strikes. I want to relish the gift that my husband is to me.

#4) venture outside the fence from time to time.

Beyond the safe. The expected. The logical. And into the places where the tall grasses grow.

What are your dreams for this year?
