Lipstick on a… Shed

We recently added a little lipstick trellis to our pig shed.

Unfortunately, the detached garage at our 1940 colonial was torn down sometime in the past by previous owners. It probably wasn’t worth saving anyway (most of the detached ones in the area seem to be far past their prime), but it sure would be nice to have a garage… In the meantime, a little shed keeps all our tools and lawn equipment as many of our tools and lawn equipment as we can fit. It wasn’t a complete eyesore, but it didn’t compliment the landscape either.

So, if you follow me on Instagram (and if you don’t, you can do that here), you know that Mr. Pax (along with his numerous “helpers”) painted, trimmed, and installed a trellis skirt for the shed.

It was simple:

  • prime both sides of trellis
  • paint one side of trellis (same color as the shed)
  • trim to fit
  • nail in

That’s it! And I’m very pleased with the result.

A couple more plants help, too.

Like I said, we didn’t want to call attention to the shed, but I do think it is more polished less of an eyesore from the porch.

And we can’t forget my perpetual photo bomber.

What do you think?
